Muteesa I Royal University in collaboration with Gesis-Leibniz Institute of Social Sciences, Germany is honoured to bring host a second International Summer School in Uganda (ISSU II). The VW Foundation funded summer school on survey methodology and data management is scheduled for 3rd -14th October, 2022 at Muteesa  I Royal University main Campus in Kirumba – Masaka. It will bring together over 50 participants from 24 universities, 8 private institutions and 3 parastatals from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Germany.


The aim of the 2nd ISSU is to offer a forum for continued exchange on the started initiative, provide data training to early career and advanced researchers and facilitate the exchange of data expertise and data based research between Ugandan, Kenyan, Tanzanian and German researchers and practitioners

The Summer School seeks to provide participants with an intense training in social science research methods as well as to foster international research collaboration and intercultural exchange. Over the course of two weeks, the International Summer School in Uganda offers four one-week courses on social science research methods. Courses are taught by internationally renowned scholars and lecturers in each course are complemented by hands-on exercises, giving participants the opportunity to apply their newly acquired knowledge in practice. Participants choose from one of two courses per week.
