THE 2ND INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL IN UGANDA HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY OPENED BY PROF. VINCENT KAKEEMBO

Day One of The 2nd International Summer School In Uganda (#ISSU2) on Survey Methodology and Data Management kicked off yesterday 3rd October, 2022 with speeches from Dr. Marlene Mauk of GESIS-Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences in Germany, Dr. Norman Mukasa-Researcher and Prof. Vincent Kakembo-Vice Chancellor of Muteesa I Royal University. They all welcomed the participants and emphasised the importance of research in the social science environment.

The gist of the training is to start a repository(Data Bank) at Muteesa I Royal University that will serve the East African Region. This can only be achieved by having the buy-in of University leadership in the East African region, identifying people who will manage it and have them trained.

         

The participants are from Germany, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and the United Kingdom. The training is to run for two weeks at Muteesa I Royal University Main Campus – Kirumba Masaka.
