Closure of 2nd International Summer School In Uganda

The 2nd International Summer School In Uganda (#ISSU2) has ended. The training was on Survey Methodology and Data Management. It kicked off on 3rd October, 2022 Up To 14th. October 2022.
Prof. Christof Wolf – GESIS – Leibniz-Institut für Sozialwissenschaften thanked MRU for the warm welcome and promised them to have more collaborations in research.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Vincent Kakembo  who closed the training officially thanked GESIS – Leibniz-Institut für Sozialwissenschaften for the opportunity of thinking about MRU among universities and VolkswagenStiftung for funding these trainining. Prof Kakembo informed them MRU’S mission which is a university which provides training, research and technical guidance responsive to national social – economic needs. He promised that Muteesa I Royal University will always be available whenever needed then later handed over a kanzu (Buganda cultural wear) to the president as a token of appreciation from MRU
Dr. Norman Mukasa- who spoke on behalf of coordinators emphasized the importance of research in the social science environment. He recommended different institutions within East African region to enroll to The East Africa Scientific Research Network to which deals with research and data analysis.

on behalf of MRU, the training was coordinated by Dr. Aisha Jjaggwe Lutale the director of the research and postgraduate School and Mrs. Jukiet Kakembo Manager international office. The participants were from Uganda, Germany, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and the United Kingdom. The training ran for two weeks at Muteesa I Royal University Main Campus – Kirumba Masaka.
