ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To be admitted for the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering of MRU, a candidate must satisfy the general minimum entrance requirements of the National Council of Higher Education (NCHE) and Muteesa 1 Royal University (MRU). This will be through two avenues which are: Direct entry and Diploma entry.
DIRECT ENTRY
Candidates seeking admission through the direct entry avenue must have obtained:

DIPLOMA HOLDERS’ ENTRY AVENUE
Holders of the Uganda National Examinations Board Diploma or its equivalent from a recognized institution can be admitted to the program. Applicants must have passed diploma in any of these fields;
ADMISSION TO FIRST YEAR
Candidates with ordinary diplomas can only be admitted to the first year.
ADMISSION TO OTHER YEARS
Admissions to other years of study than to the 1st year of the program shall require a special resolution of the Faculty Board and permission of the Senate of Muteesa I Royal University. The Civil Engineering Department will work out all appropriate credit transfers, which shall not exceed 40% of the minimum degree credit units. Persons holding a Higher Diploma from a recognized institution can be admitted to 3rd year, with the provision that they will be required to take some courses from the 2ndyear that the Faculty Board will have identified and deemed mandatory.
