Muteesa I Royal University Secures Victory Against MUBS in Pepsi University Football League
The second round of the Pepsi University Football League kicked off in thrilling fashion as Muteesa I Royal University (MRU) avenged their earlier group-stage defeat with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Makerere University Business School (MUBS).
In their first encounter, MUBS had edged MRU 1-0, courtesy of a well-taken strike by Mbabazi Joe Worrick. However, this time, the Royals showcased resilience and determination from the opening whistle, pressing the visitors relentlessly.
MUBS struggled to match MRU’s high-intensity play and resorted to a long-ball strategy in an attempt to break through. Their best chance came when Arthur Mazige found himself in a promising position inside the penalty area, but his shot soared over the bar.
With this impressive win, Muteesa I Royal University continues to make a strong statement in the tournament, demonstrating skill, discipline, and a hunger for success.
